Whats been going on?..

Not a lot really. We have been busy, but nothing interesting. I have been working on getting things together for Katie(Harley's mom), chasing kids, and working on school work. We did have a fun filled weekend though.
On Friday night, my mom watched the kids for us and Charlie and I got a night out. It was great. We went to eat(food was gross though)and then hung out with some friends. On Saturday we slept in and then that night we went to the drive in.(Went a lot better than last time.) On Sunday, we went to Joplin, to a little waterfall and then played at the park. Here are some pics from ...

Hubby is going to be on a business trip from Wednesday until late Friday night. I am not too happy about it. I am kind of scared. It will be the first time him and I have been away from each other since I turned 18. Also, we dont have a car and my mom is 15 mins away with no phone and my mother in-law will be an hour away. I just hope nothing happens.

My mind is reeling....

Every since I got that call last night from Katie my mind has been turning. I just keep replaying that phone call over and over. Then I think of all the things I should have said and it make me feel bad because I was nearly speechless. I think about how that could easily have been my child and how grateful I am to have them. Then all day today I have been trying to get flowers and money for Katie and respond to everyones questions.
On top of all this we are sick at my house. We are down with allergies. I am also stressing over school. My classes started last week and I don't have my books yet. Plus my hard drive went out on my computer. Its in the shop and I hope it gets back soon.
My mind is just on overdrive. I need to slow down and take a break. Maybe getting this out will help a little.

Read With Us

This book reading is for In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me by Lynnette Kraft.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

For we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again. 2 Corinthians 1:8-10

What do you think of these verses and how they relate to that line?

I think that if you trust in God you can over come anything. You must lean on him though.

Have you had any moments in your life where you felt really close to God?

Just yesterday I felt God was working his miracles. We needed a hundred dollars for Harley's shadow box. God led Lauren to donate that last amount. Then Harley passed at 9pm last night.

Heart Broken.

I am so heart broken today. A little girl the same age as my Eli has gone to see Jesus. I have been praying for her and her family and I followed her in her battle. Little Harley was diagnosed with Alper's Syndrome at 15 months. She was in the hospital most of the last 4 months. She he now home with her Heavenly Father. No more suffering and no more tears. RIP Sweet Harley, You will be missed.

So We Dont Forget

Topic: School Days - Tell us about a school memory from when you were a child - or school memories with your children. If you're a homeschooler, feel free to tell us something about your homeschool day (a special activity, first day of school, field trip, etc).

One thing that really comes to mind from my school days was in fourth grade. My friend and I both like the same boy(There is the begining of trouble.) She had told me this, so the big mouth that I was decided to spread the word. Well it made her cry and we got into a fight. They teacher took us out into the hallway and made us apologize to each other. We are still friends to this day and look back on it and laugh. Oh, what it would be like to have our only worry be a boy again.

Read With Us

Please click the above icon to learn more about Read With Us and how it works.

This book reading is for In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me by Lynnette Kraft.

In this chapter Lynnette shared about Kyle's business venture and how it didn't quite work out as hoped. How many things in life don't go as we have planned? Are there things in your life you imagined different?

Nothing has gone as planned for Charlie and I since we got married. If so we would have a house bought in Tulsa. I would have my CMA and Charlie would almost be done with his degree. We do have the two kids, but that didnt go as planned either(Wouldnt change it though) I think we are exactly where God wants us to be though.

Getting Better

So, things are getting better. Charlie has decided to try another round of online classes. I am so happy and relieved. I was so afraid he was going take in class school and everything would go back to be being bad between us.

My first class is coming to and end. It wasn't too bad. I am looking forward to the next two. Pray that I do good in them. One is English and the other is Computer Literacy. I'm afraid I might struggle in the English class.

The kids are doing great. They are getting so big and way too fast. Eli is now 19 months and Amelia is 5. The doctor said Eli's ears are looking great. The thing on the side of Amelia's face is getting bigger though. She goes back for her 6 month appointment next month and they are going to talk about sending her to a specialist.

Charlie is looking for a new job, so that we can possibly move. We need to get out of this town and away from family. I think it will also help are marriage out a lot. Having family constantly at our house puts a drain on things and we never have alone time.

Well, I think that is about all for the updates. Hope everyone has a great week.

One Step Forward and Ten Steps Back

Just when things are starting to take a step forward, they make a u-turn.
I had the IUD taken out and was feeling so much better. Things were going great between me and the hubby.(Best it has been in a long time.) We had just discussed and agreed to start TTC for #3 and we were all happy for once. Then hubby decides to stop taking classes online and go back to in school.
I so dont want him to go back. I am so afraid everything will go back to how it was. It wouldnt be so bad besides the fact the he works full time already. When he goes to school he will be gone 3 nights a week on top of that. Plus its an hour drive to school. That means that he will leave and 8 in the morning for work, come home at 4 long enough to grab a bite and head out. Then he wont get home from school until midnight or one.
I have tried to tell him my worries, but he [thinks] he has a solution for everything. I just want us to be able to be a family. I feel like I am a single mom while he does school. I dont want him to miss out on his kids life. I just dont know what to do any more.

Left Out and Not Wanted.

Have you ever felt left out and like your not really wanted? That is exactly how I felt a week ago Sunday.

Let me start at the beginning.(Or somewhat the bargaining.) My moms house was getting foreclosed on and my mother in-law agreed to let her and my little sister stay at the farm house. I knew that was going to be a bad idea from the beginning. I was right
My mom had my uncle mow the yard out there with the tractor. We a few weeks later my brother in-law went over to the house to look for something and when they came back they said that my uncle had ran over the doors. I told them I didn't know anything about them and I didn't want in the middle of it. Well, the next day my mom came over and started complaining about it to me and was mad. Well guess what? I got stuck in the middle. This all leads up to last Sunday.

Sunday we were all supposed to get together for a big birthday party for everyone.(Including me) Since I never even got a phone call from anyone I figured that they would have cake and ice cream. Well I guess everyone forgot that it was my birthday also. No one said happy birthday or even really talked to me.

Then the guys went over to the farm house to check on tired. When they came back I over heard them talking about "Good thing they weren't stolen". That really upset me. My mom may have accidentally broke something but she isn't a thief.

Later that day all the girls(except me) went into the kitchen to look at jewelry my mother in law makes and sells. Everyone was offered a necklace besides me. Its not that I wanted a freebie. I probably would have turned it down anyway. It just would have been nice to be included.

The being stuck in the middle and left out thing still hasn't got any better and hubby just says he is sorry.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Our family has been pretty busy since last time I blogged. Lets see...Friday, after hubby got off work, we went to a friends house and hung out. We rented movies and pigged out on food. We
Saturday we got up kind of late and decided to go to the car show held in our town. It was a lot of fun. We wound up having over 200 cars. Eli loved it. He wanted to climb on the bikes.( He also through fits because he couldn't) After the car show my mom took Eli for us and Charlie, Amelia and I went to the drive in. It was nice to get out with the hubby. (Wish we had a babysitter for Amelia also.)
Sunday was our usually visiting the family day. It was also supposed to be a birthday party for the July birthdays. (Long story I will probably blog about later.) After we visited the inlaws and cousins we went to Bible study. It was great also.
Yesterday was Eli ear surgery. It went well. We arrived at the hospital around 7:30 to check in. Then we went back to a room and they put him in a little gown and took his temp (stuff like that). The anaesthesiologist came in to talk to us. Then a lady came back to walk us to the OR. At the OR door we had to hand him over and poor little guy cried. About 15 mins later they came out and got us. We walked to the recovery room and Eli was crying. After I picked him up, he screamed bloody murder until for a while. (He was mad) They gave us instructions and set up a follow appointment and we were able to go home.
As you can see we havent been home much the last few days. It has been eventful, but fun. I am not one who likes to be cooped up long.

If you have experienced labor, what was yours like?
With Eli I was induced. I was given Pitocin and was in labor 15 hours before the decided to take me in to surgery. It wasnt all that bad. I was given Stadol in the begining and then I had to get and Epi for the surgery. With Amelia, I had a repeat c section, so I had no labor.

Do you know of anyone whose lives have been impacted by CDH (or has your own)?
I dont know anyone personally. I am not sure what Dori's( Met her through Cafemom) son had, but it was some kind of heart defect.

Kyle's words. "God won't bring anything into our lives that he doesn't already have planned." And then when talking about the coffee cup, "God will only take his hand off when he is letting something into our lives. He is protecting us."
How do these words spoken by Kyle make you feel?
I completely agree with him. I know the God is doing exactly what he needs to do FOR us.

During difficult times, where do you find your comfort?
I find my comfort in praying, listening to Christian music, and talking with my husband.

If God had asked my permission, would I have said yes too, like Lynnette? What would you say?
I would say yes, As hard as that would be. I may not know what the purpose was at that time, but I would know it was for the better.
